People who change the way 7 billion people of the earth think, act, work and dream; People who constantly try to contribute to the society to benefit all; People who foresee the future and make our present more pleasant. These people should be given our undivided respect and should always be remembered as heroes who took humans to the next level.
However, not all legends leave behind a legacy who people look up to. Not all great leaders are remembered. Some are forgotten through sands of time. Some are not given the importance they deserve and their contributions to the history of our future are just sidelined. What should have remained immortal is now nothing but a document piled in the archives with a million useless papers eating dust. How sad and ironic and wrong!
Nikola Tesla. One of the most underrated scientists of the millenium. He is the inventor of various things which were never told to us because of the influence of powerful and wealthy men and thirsty media. Thomas Alva Edison was not the inventor of the light bulb, it was a team of 22 people of whom Nikola and Thomas were a part. Nikola was the one who succeeded in perfecting a bulb, but Edison was the one who succeeded in convincing that he was the one. Tesla was the inventor of radio, Alternate current, X-ray and radar but unfortunate for him that other scientists stole his work. However, being the man of science, he let go the name and fame and focussed on working hard for providing great things for mankind. It is a pity we forget his contributions and let somebody purloin his work.
An English mathematician, logician and cryptographer, Alan Turing was responsible for breaking the Nazi Enigma code during World War II. His work gave the Allies the edge they needed to win the war in Europe, and led to the creation of the computer. That means that he saved millions of lives and still his contribution is unaccounted for. He was the real inventor of computer and we are where we are in the field of technology because of his model on AI and computers. However, these benefactions were not enough to change the stupid and orthodox mentality of people. Turing was not given respect in the society as he was homosexual and was subjected to the punishment of chemical castration.
Vasili Arkhipov is the person to thank for saving the world from a dire nuclear war that was going to take place during the cold war. He was the one who stopped Russia from nuking America followed by America nuking the world. This guy's judgement and steadfastness towards peace is the reason our world is at a flourishing stage. A nod by him could've resulted into WWIII. Still, he is oblivious to all of us. We have failed to respect him and thank him for what he did. Read more about him and Cuban Missile Crises HERE.
Without these people, our world would have been so different. We did not give the recognition then, but we can give them now by reading about them more and telling people about their contributions!
